Life Through the Spirit: Faith, Mercy, and Righteousness

Abba Father, I thank you for allowing me life to breathe on this day. Thank you Abba Father for showing me grace and mercy. Thank you Abba Father for loving me.

God has been gracious to me. I've been praying for the anointing of the Holy Spirit, for His Spirit to come and fill me and live in me. (But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. -John 14:6)
Everyday as I pray and seek more of Him, I feel as if I'm getting closer and closer to Jesus Christ. Although I don't hear the Lord speaking to me, I pray and hope that I will. Retha Mcpherson (http://www.rethamcpherson.com/) wrote in her letters that if you don't hear the Lord speaking to you, go into His words (the Bible) because that is where the Father speaks.
The Bible is a powerful weapon given to us by the Father. For those who don't take use of it and read it and treat it as if it was just another book ready to be toss out, then I tell you this: PRAY and ask the Father to reveal His Spirit to you so that when you read His Word, His word will come ALIVE for you. I use to be like that. I use to treat the bible as if it was just another book. I mean sure I read it and I believe the words written in it, but to actually live out the commands and be obedient to God was something that I lacked. It wasn't until I started seeking for the Lord's guidance and the Lord's Spirit that I began seeing the Bible as a weapon, as a mean of Life given to us by the Father.
For the past few days as I was seeking and praying for guidance from the Lord and for the Lord to anoint me with His Holy Spirit, I was led into reading Romans.
The Lord took me to Romans, and took me back to the basics of who He is and what He has done for us. Only through His mercy and grace in His Son Jesus Christ, can we receive rightouesness. (Romans 4:2)

Romans 8:5 says: "Those who live according to the sinful nature have their minds set on what that nature desires, but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
You will NOT be able to please God if you are controlled by sinful nature.
I kept asking God, 'Abba Father, I want to be fill with Your Holy Spirit! Please Lord, Anoint me with Your Spirit.' It wasn't until I read this passage that I asked myself, 'Maggie, what are you hiding from the Lord? What have you not done to repent for the Blood of the precious lamb to wash away your sins?'
In all honest truth, I have this bitter and angryness build up inside of me. I asked and repented for the Lord to forgive me and for His precious blood to wash away my sin, that bitterness and angeryness that is a sinful nature.
A mind controlled by sinful nature leads to death, but a mind controlled by the Spirit leads to life and peace. (Romans 8:6)
I felt the Lord spoke to me as I read this verse. I CANNOT please God if I am controlled by sinful nature. NO ONE can. "I know that nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. For what I do is not the good I want to do; no, the evil I do not want to do—this I keep on doing. Now if I do what I do not want to do, it is no longer I who do it, but it is sin living in me that does it. So I find this law at work: When I want to do good, evil is right there with me." (Romans 7:18-21)
But I give thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ for making it possible so that we in our minds are slave to God's law(Romans 7:25)

I just wanted to share a bit of what I've been learning in my seeking and praying for the Lord Jesus Christ to come and anoint me with His Spirit.

Continue to Seek for the Lord.

Love Mags
